The Guardian's Garden is a space that embodies the meaning of protection and offers tranquility. It houses 32 stone cultural heritage artifacts, including 17 pieces donated by the late Chairman Lee Kun-hee. These artifacts in the Guardian's Garden will help preserve the splendid culture of the Ungin Baekje period and the numerous cultural treasures stored in the Chungcheong Stroage Facility. In the Resting Place of Enlightenment, various stone Buddhas are arranged around the seated statue of Sakyamuni Buddha from the Seohyeol Temple Site in Gongju. Although these stone Buddhas take on different forms, they share the same compassionate intention to save sentient beings and bring peace, as enlightened beings. May this resting place become a space that brings new inspiration to your life.
In the Jangmyeong Garden, there are nine Jang-myeong lanterns that were believed to guide the souls of the deceased to the afterlife. Just as each life follows its own path to another world, each Jangmyeong lantern has its own unique appearance. May the Jangmyeong lanterns of the Jangmyeong Garden light your way forward.
In front of old tombs, animal statues[Seoksu] were placed to ward off evil spirits. In the Forest of Stone Guardian, you will find monkeys, dogs, tigers, dragons, sheep, and haetae. Each statue embodies the wish to repel bad energy and invite good fortune. May you receive positive energy and create cherished memories in the garden adorned with these stone animals.
A Byeolseo Garden is one of the traditional garden styles. In the past, noble scholars enjoyed leisure and relaxtion in Byeolseo gardens, harmonizing with nature. May you spend joyful and peaceful moments under the shade of pine trees, which symbolize longevity and integrity.
