Exhibition II showcases various artifacts from the period when Ungjin was the capital of the Baekje Kingdom (475-538 CE).

The artifacts, collected from different areas in and around Chungcheongnam-do, illuminate numerous aspects of the culture of Ungjin Baekje, including the kingdom’s houses, tombs, castle, and cultural exchange with other nations.

The gallery also includes relics excavated from the tumulus of Songsan-ri and Gongsanseong Fortress, enabling visitors to observe how the upper class and royal family of Ungjin Baekje lived.

This space also shows the ancient history and culture of Chungcheongnam-do, an area that was crucial for the development of civilization on the Korean Peninsula from the Paleolithic Period through the Neolithic Period and the Iron Age.

Moreover, Chungcheongnam-do was at the heart of the Mahan Confederacy and the Ungjin and Sabi era of the Baekje Kingdom, and remained a key region of the Unified Silla (676-935 CE).

The cultural assets in this gallery reflect the significant development and the dynamic historical features of Chungcheongnam-do.
